When it comes to streetwear, there are few logos as recognizable as Stone Island's compass. In the 80s, the compass began to be worn by the Italian youth but is now common among young people around the world. Apart from the emblem on the arm, Stone Island's clothes have a very classic and stylish look with their comfortable fit.
Stone Island is, like many others, an Italian brand, named after Joseph Conrad's short stories. The brand was founded by Massimo Osti in 1983. Stone Island became known early on in the market after they started using heavy stonewashed, tarpaulin-like fabric, also called Tela Stella.
Stone Island's kit with its signature black, green and yellow compass logo became a focal point of football culture around the UK and Europe. It wasn't until a collab between Supreme and Stone Island in 2014, with support from artist Drake, that Stone Island became well known on both sides of the Atlantic.
